Top reasons to organize your event here...

Gragnano is the “city of pasta”, and we think that everyone should visit the place at least once. Still unsure? We have made a list of our top reasons for visiting Gragnano which perhaps will sway your mind!

Castellammare

The city of Castellammare is bordered to the south by the Lattari Mountains and to the east by the countryside crossed by the Sarno river. The so-called archaeological area of Castellammare di Stabia consists of the remains of the ancient city of Stabia, near Varano hill.

City of Pasta

Since the 16th century the city has been known throughout Europe as "the city of pasta". To this day it continues to be the largest producer and exporter of this particular product, especially the macaroni variant.

Valley of the mills

The pasta industry is helped by no less than 30 water mills, the remains of some of which can still be admired today in the famous "Valle dei mulini". The most recent of traditions also defines Gragnano as the "town of panuozzo", a food product that ranks among those baked goods.

The Castle

Built around the 10th century, the castle in the medieval town of Gragnano was a military structure in use until the fall of the Amalfitan dukedom. Today, only a few remains of the entire building are visible, such as the entrance gate, parts of the surrounding walls and some observation towers.

Vesuvius

A few kilometers from the town is the Vesuvius national park, which means that an excursion to its famous crater is a must. A unique and unmissable opportunity to admire one of the most famous and characteristic active volcanoes in the world.

Pompeii and Ercolano

Just below the slopes of Vesuvius are the cities of Pompeii and Ercolano, which in 79 a.d. were covered by lava during the most famous eruption in human history. A leap into the past where you can admire the ancient roman ruins and, above all, the remains (cast in plaster) of the people who were trapped during the natural disaster 2000 years ago.

Nativity scene

The town is also famous for its famous "Gragnano nativity scene", due to the passion and ingenuity of the local craftsmen, who, driven by love for the Christmas tradition, created the first nativity scene back in 1969. For some of the views and characteristic corners, the creator, Pasquale Cesarano, has always been inspired by the beautiful panorama of the pleasant "Valle dei Mulini".

Capri, Ischia, Procida

Gragnano offers a wonderful panorama over the Gulf of Naples, from which it is possible to look at the beautiful islands of Ischia, Procida and Capri.
